Hello!
Well, so far things have been going well with Mason back on Prevacid in the morning. Thank you Lord! It has been working out great giving it to him at 6AM, even if he is "supposed" to eat at 6:30, he is more patient these days in the AM to wait until 7AM to eat. Plus, I keep him pretty busy until then, diaper change, dressed and treatments usually take up most of the hour he has to wait before eating.
We FINALLY heard back on the x-ray results after waiting over a week! Called the Friday, the week after and left a message w/ the nurse basically saying that we weren't too happy and were getting frustrated that no one had back with us, even with me calling and leaving messages. Got a call from her first thing Monday morning apologizing, but that the GI nurse hadn't been returning her messages either to find out the results. Needless to say, I got a call from the GI nurse AND GI doctor later that day saying that everything looked normal with his intestines, that he didn't seem to be backed up. Which at this point we kind of figured, but still it shouldn't take this long. What if he had really been sick (God forbid)?? So, yes, I am now "that" Mom who is the pain in the ass to the doctors and nurses...and I will not apologize for it! Did learn from our nurse that the GI Dr. - Dr. B - that I had spoken with on the phone that answered so many of our questions, well he is just temporary. UGH! He was kind of just a fill in between doctors. BUT luckily the new doctor has started and apparently he is super excited about getting to work with CF kids...I just hope we will be as excited about him. We meet him tomorrow at Mason's next CF clinic appointment. FINALLY we are seeing a GI doctor since his diagnosis!
Mason had his 4 month check up at his regular Dr. on Thursday, which means more shots. He did awesome though! The first immunization was orally, and he sucked it down! Didn't even know when she stuck the first needle in, but definitely noticed the 2nd! Cried for about 5 seconds, then was right back to smiling and talking to the nurse! He weighed in at 14 lbs. 1 oz. and 25 inches long. Kind of concerned what the CF doctors will say about his weight b/c that puts him between the 25th and 50th percentile on the growth chart, and the CF Foundation is pretty adamant about being at least in the 50th. So, we shall see tomorrow...
At school Mason had been giving Paula problems with taking his first bottle, not eating until 1:30 and then during his late afternoon bottle parents are already starting to pick up kids...so of course he has to stop and visit! It finally clicked for us that 1:30 is nap time...no kids playing, no excitement, no distraction...so Mason is a stinker and must have it pretty quite and nothing going on around him before he will eat! Luckily, she has worked out a schedule for her and Mason ... 11, 2, and 5...she wakes him up early from nap to eat and feeds him in the nursery where it is quite. High Maintenance Baby!! HAHA!
I got to see ALLY!! She is back in Texas from NEW YORK for a few weeks, so her and her wonderful Mom made a shopping trip to CS last week and I met them for a delicious lunch! It was SOOOO great to see her!
Be thinking of Mason tomorrow at his Dr. appointment!
Love,
Jess
